Apple Pound Cake

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 1-2 hours
Serves: 12-14 slices


250 gr self rising flour
150 gr butter
4 egg(s)
220 gr sugar
30 gr vanilla sugar
1 vanilla bean(s)
2 teaspoon(s) of vanilla extract
4 apple(s)


Preheat your oven to 180°C.

In a large bowl:
Cream butter.
Add sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolks, vanilla extract and the seeds of the vanilla bean.
Mix until pale and fluffy.

In a smaller bowl: 
Beat egg whites until stiff.
(hold upside down above your head to test the stiffness!)

In 4 times: add flour to the butter sugar mixture.
Now gently fold in the egg whites.
Add the apples to the dough and gently fold them in.
Pour the dough into a greased and flowered pan.
Bake for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.

Pour the dough into a greased and flowered pan.


Add some nuts if you'd like to add a different texture.
